Running (jogging) helps to safeguard the health of the knee joint
Studies have revealed that
jogging can protect the knee joint health and even it postpones the start of joint
degeneration diseases such as osteoporosis.
The new study of researchers
at Brigham Young University in Utah America shows daily running can maintain
the healthy bones and joints. Contrary to popular belief, the researchers
believe that running reduces the inflammation in the knee joints and slows the
progression toward the osteoporosis.
Mat Sully, the leader of this research team said: "This belief
that long distance running is bad for the knees is just a legend".
In this study, researchers were measured the signs of inflammation
in the synovial fluid of knee in several healthy men and women aged 18 to 35
years before and after running. They found some specific signs that they were
looking for in liquids extracted of Knee (two cytokines known as GM-CSF and
IL-15) were dropped in the terms of concentration in the participants after 30
minutes of running.
Until liquids were extracted after and before running conditions, the
signs of inflammation had remained the same.
The results of this research indicate that in the case of young and
health people, exercise causes the inflammatory environment that can be
beneficial in the long term for joint health.
Even the results show that exercise can delay the beginning of
degenerative joint diseases such as osteoporosis.
